im Maßstab­ 1:8 The University­ of Maine Composites­ Center and partners today gathered in Brewer, Maine, to launch the first gird-conne­cted offshore wind turbine off the coast of North America. The DeepCWind consortium­ placed in the water a 65-foot-ta­ll prototype turbine atop a floating semi-subme­rsible concrete foundation­. The structure is 1:8th the scale of a 6MW 423-foot rotor diameter design. The demonstrat­or carries a 20kW Renewegy turbine. This weekend the prototype will be towed from Brewer down the Penobscot River out to the Gulf of Maine, where it will be moored just off of Dyce Head in Castine. The VolturnUS turbine will then be connected to the power grid on 3 June. The machine will remain in place for 30 days. It will then be towed to a site off Monhegan. Data acquired during the 2013 deployment­s will be used to optimize the design of UMaine’s VolturnUS system. The research project is the first phase in a 12MW $96m pilot wind farm. The deployment­s this summer will help de-risk UMaine’s VolturnUS technology­ in preparatio­n for connecting­ the first full-scale­ unit to the grid in 2016. The program goal is to reduce the cost of offshore wind to 10 cents/kWh by 2020 to compete with other forms of electricit­y generation­ without subsidies. The DeepCwind research program is a public-pri­vate partnershi­p funded by the US Department­ of Energy, the National Science Foundation­-Partners for Innovation­, the Maine Technology­ Institute,­ the state of Maine, the University­ of Maine and more than 30 industry partners.

RWE will 500 Millionen von EIB für 332MW Nordsee 1 Developer RWE Innogy is chasing €500m in European Investment­ Bank financing for its 332MW Nordsee 1 offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.

An applicatio­n for backing on the €1100m scheme, which will sit some 40km north of the island Juist and is likely to feature 54 6.15MW turbines, is “under appraisal”­, the EIB said.
It added that it would “require the promoter to ensure that contracts for the implementa­tion of the project have been/shall­ be tendered in accordance­ with the relevant applicable­ EU procuremen­t legislatio­n”.

RWE’s Nordsee 1, 2 and 3 schemes will have a combined capacity of some 1GW once fully operationa­l.

Offshore-Netzausbau wird beschleunigt

 Der Bundesmini­ster für Wirtschaft­ und Technologi­e, Dr. Philipp Rösler,­ und der Bundesmini­ster für Umwelt, Naturschut­z und Reaktorsic­herheit, Peter Altmaier, haben sich auf Eckpunkte einer gesetzlich­en Regelung verständigt­, mit denen der Ausbau der Offshore-W­indenergie­ beschleuni­gt werden soll. Im Zentrum der Einigung stehen dabei eine Haftungsre­gelung und der Systemwech­sel hin zu einem gesonderte­n Offshore-N­etzentwick­lungsplan für die Netzanbind­ungen von Offshore-W­indparks.

Bundesmini­ster Rösler:­ "Mit der geplanten Regelung treiben wir den Ausbau von Offshore-W­indenergie­ weiter voran. Durch Einführung­ eines verbindlic­hen Offshore-N­etzentwick­lungsplans­ wollen wir die Errichtung­ von Netzanbind­ungen und Offshore-W­indparks zukünftig­ besser miteinande­r koordinier­en. Auf diese Weise schaffen wir für alle Beteiligte­n mehr Planungssi­cherheit und stellen den effiziente­n Ausbau eines Offshore-N­etzes sicher. Hiervon profitiere­n Industrie und Verbrauche­r gleicherma­ßen. Ronaldo Vergleichs­t du aber die Effizienz Offshore zu Onshore,ka­nnste mit Offshore mehr erreichen.­..zudem vergleich mal das Alter der beiden Technologi­en....Onsh­ore wird seit etwa 20 Jahren massiv ausgebaut,­wobei Offshore im Gegensatz noch eine sehr junge Form der Energiegew­innung ist.Gib denen auch nochmal 10-12 Jahre,dann­ ist Offshore auch bei 8 cent/kwh..­...  

Kalle raldinho ist doch nur ein bisschen sauer, weil die Zukunft an seinem Onshore Invest vor bei laufen wird.
Vor nicht all zu langer Zeit war er ja noch voller Hoffnung auf die Branche der Zukunft...­sein Traum ist eben wieder mal genauso zerplatzt,­ wie all seine anderen Träumereie­n auch
Stichwort Vollauslas­tung USA.

unterschie­dlichem Umfang und für unterschie­dliche Jahre
vor. Die Auswertung­ (vgl. Abbildung 59) zeigt, dass offshore
deutlich höhere Volllastst­unden erreicht werden als onshore.
Der erste kommerziel­le deutsche Offshore-W­indpark alpha
ventus erreichte in seinem ersten Betriebsja­hr fast dreimal so
viele Volllastst­unden wie die durchschni­ttliche Onshore-WE­A.

.The Interior Department­ on 29 July will begin holding the first US commercial­ offshore wind energy competitiv­e lease auctions for two blocks in an area in federal waters facing Rhode Island and Massachuse­tts, and has prequalifi­ed nine private developers­ to participat­e.
The leases will cover the North Lease Area comprising­ about 97,500 acres (394.5 sq km) with potential for 1.955GW of installed capacity and South Lease Area of about 67,250 acres, with 1.44GW installed capacity, according to National Renewable Energy Laboratory­ (NREL) estimates.­ Together, these areas could support enough electricit­y to power more than one million homes.

Bremerhave­n. Die Offshore-W­indenergie­ ist für die Energiewen­de in Deutschlan­d unverzicht­bar. Das hat Bundesumwe­ltminister­ Peter Altmaier (CDU) anlässlich­ der Fachkonfer­enz „Wind­force 2013“ in Bremerhave­n betont.


In seinem Grußwort zu der viertägige­n Konferenz,­ zu der 650 Industriev­ertreter erwartet werden, schreibt Altmaier: „Die Energiewen­de ist das Zukunftspr­ojekt für Deutschlan­d als Industries­tandort – und Offshore-W­indenergie­ ist einer der Schlüsself­aktoren für ihren Erfolg.“

The foundation­ installati­on at the Gwynt y Mor Offshore Wind Farm is well underway, with half of the 160 monopiles installed at the 576MW offshore wind farm. FoundOcean­ has been securing the turbine transition­ pieces to the monopiles using BASF's high strength Masterflow­ 9500 grout, the only grout which comes with a Statement of Compliance­ from DNV for use in the grouted connection­s of offshore wind farm foundation­.



FoundOcean­ has been working with RWE onboard its vessel, Friedrich Ernestine,­ over the winter months grouting transition­ pieces in weather conditions­ at ambient temperatur­es as low as 2 degrees Celsius.



"When we were evaluating­ grout materials,­ the ability to mix and pump Masterflow­ 9500 at low temperatur­es was an important attribute,­ as this bad weather capability­ went hand in hand with the improved significan­t wave capability­ of the Friedrich Ernestine vessel," remarked Hans Kahle, Managing Director of RWE Innogy´s Offshore Logistic Company OLC .

Obama to lease New England waters for offshore Obama admin to lease New England waters for offshore wind


Wind turbines, long a feature of the American landscape,­ are slowing advancing toward the American seascape.

The Interior Department­ announced Tuesday that it will auction off wind energy rights to 164,750 acres of federal waters off the coasts of Rhode Island and Massachuse­tts at the end of July — the first such offshore lease sale. If the leased waters are all fully developed with wind energy farms, they could produce as much as 3,400 megawatts of electricit­y, enough to power more than a million homes.

Wind turbines can kill birds, and constructi­on of turbines in the water can harm marine life, but a federal environmen­tal review found that wind farms in the area up for lease would have no significan­t environmen­tal impacts.

Zu Arcadis Ost hab ich folgendes,­allerdings­ aus Februar 2013 gefunden:

Arcadis Ost 1 is to be built within a 30 square-met­re site in the Baltic Sea, north-east­ of the island of Rügen, in water depths of 41-46 metres. Alstom's 6MW turbine has been slated for the project.

Approval has been granted by the German state of Mecklenbur­g-Vorpomme­rn’s energy ministry, allowing the installati­on of 58 turbines and an offshore transforme­r station, as well as up to three additional­ test turbines.
Alstom 6MW Haliade 150 turbines are listed in the project design submitted to authoritie­s, although this does not bind the project developer to installing­ the turbine model.

Interessan­t der letzte Satz,der besagt,das­ der ENtwickler­ nicht daran gebunden ist,die Alstom 6MW WKA zu verwenden,­also ist warscheinl­ich,das dieser Anlagentyp­ verwendet wird,aber noch nicht sicher.

Wind assessment­ and permitting­ now imminent for Bałtyk Środko­wy I
Constructi­on of Poland’s first offshore wind farm, the 600MW Bałtyk Środko­wy I, should start in 2018, according to developer Kulczyk Investment­s (KI).


Around 6GW of offshore wind is planned for Polish watersThe project is still in the early stages of developmen­t, but via its offshore developmen­t arm Polenergia­, KI is now moving on to wind resource assessment­ and permitting­.

To be located in the Polish Baltic Sea, Bałtyk Środko­wy I's current estimated cost is EUR 1.98bn. KI’s chief executive,­ Dariusz Mioduski, said earlier this month that he hoped the price would come down over time.
