Successful Orbital Launch of BlueBird 6 AST SpaceMobile Announces Successful Orbital Launch of BlueBird 6, the Largest Commercial Communications Array Ever Deployed in Low Earth Orbit

MIDLAND, Texas, December 24, 2025--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AST SpaceMobile, Inc. ("AST SpaceMobile") (NASDAQ: ASTS), the company building the first and only space-based cellular broadband network accessible directly by everyday smartphones, designed for both commercial and government applications, today announced the successful orbital launch of BlueBird 6.

The BlueBird 6 mission lifted off at 10:25 p.m. EST on December 23 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, India. BlueBird 6 becomes now the largest commercial communications array ever deployed in low Earth orbit, spanning nearly 2,400 square feet, three times larger than AST SpaceMobile’s previous record-breaking BlueBirds 1-5, engineered to deliver commercial and government applications, including high-speed 4G and 5G space-based cellular broadband directly to standard, unmodified smartphones, and government applications that benefit from the power, size, and patented technology of AST SpaceMobile’s BlueBird spacecrafts.

Today’s successful launch kicks off our next phase of execution and keeps us on track to launch 45–60 satellites by the end of 2026, with launches planned every one or two months on average.
BlueBird 6 was assembled, integrated, and tested at AST SpaceMobile’s manufacturing facilities in Midland, Texas. AST SpaceMobile operates nearly 500,000 square feet of manufacturing and operations facilities worldwide, supported by a workforce of more than 1,800 employees and a technology platform backed by over 3,800 patents and patent-pending claims.

AST SpaceMobile has agreements with over 50 mobile network operators globally with nearly 3 billion subscribers combined and strategic partnerships with AT&T, Verizon, Vodafone, Rakuten, Google, American Tower, Bell and stc Group.

Immer noch gigantisches Potential If AST get only 10% of market = $ 180 billion

According to McKinsey, the space sector is projected to reach $1.8 trillion by 2035, so it's not surprising Alphabet is attempting to cash in on the explosive growth expected.

Turning Point 2025 - a turning point for satellites in telecoms

2025 saw telecom giants accelerate their integration efforts of non-terrestrial networks (NTNs) to bridge connectivity gaps and future-proof the sector.

December 24, 2025

As the industry further shifts from viewing satellites as standalone solutions to critical components of hybrid terrestrial-NTN architectures, here we look back at some of the top stories and key developments over this past year.

Satellite and terrestrial integration

A 2025 survey showed that NTNs are viewed by the telecom industry as reinforcing service reliability and adding an extra layer of network redundancy to 5G. This view increasingly makes the convergence of satellites and 5G (and fibre) a mainstream application in telecoms.

Similarly, and Rakuten Mobile's and AST SpaceMobile's claim of a world first with their satellite video call in Japan further supports satellite’s charm globally.

The market trends on the whole signal a maturing market where scale and spectrum ownership are critical for market competitiveness. If the stars align right, 2026 ought to bring more headlines for the satellite comms sector.

AST SpaceMobile could stay a space stock winner Why AST SpaceMobile could stay a space stock winner

Contrast Redwire's questionable prospects with those of one of the top-performing space stocks this year, AST SpaceMobile (NASDAQ: ASTS). Year to date, shares in this provider of satellite-based cellular broadband services have been on a tear, rising over fourfold, from the low $20s per share in January to the low $80s per share.

Yes, after making a triple-digit leap higher, you may be thinking, "How much more room does this stock have to recover?" As seen from the stock's resilience, even after reporting weaker-than-expected quarterly results last month, investors remain focused on the long-term story with AST SpaceMobile.
Namely, as commercial activity continues to accelerate, including commercial agreements with major telecom companies such as Verizon Communications, investors will remain bullish about the company's growth prospects over the next few years.

In the near term, sell-side analyst forecasts anticipate AST SpaceMobile's sales to increase by 342.6%, or more than fourfold, in 2026 Better yet, long-term earnings forecasts suggest that the company is just a few years away from positive earnings. Longer-term earnings projections anticipate earnings per share (EPS) of $0.35 in 2027 and $2.57 in 2028.

T Expands Into Satellite Connectivity Space: Will it Boost Prospects?

AT&T, Inc. T is collaborating with AST Spacemobile to expand into the emerging satellite connectivity space. Despite rapid deployments of 5G and fiber networks nationwide, a large area of the United States has remained outside of the network coverage area. Remote and rural locations, which are sparsely populated, are often deemed unviable for network deployment by major telecom companies. Moreover, geographically challenging terrain makes it difficult to set up ground network infrastructure. By leveraging ASTS Satcom capabilities, T aims address these limitations of terrestrial network infrastructure.

Deutsche ups AST SpaceMobile Deutsche ups AST SpaceMobile target on higher valuation multiple

Deutsche Bank raised the firm’s price target on AST SpaceMobile (ASTS) to $137 from $81 and keeps a Buy rating on the shares. The firm rolled forward its share valuation given the new year and AST’s EBITDA multiple to 20-times from 15. The reason for the increase in Deutsche’s 2030 valuation multiple is that its new forecast exits 2030 with a 60% higher EBITDA growth rate of 40%, the analyst tells investors in a research note. The firm believes AST has the partnerships in place to be successful and scale its direct-to-device business.

AST SpaceMobile Launch Schedule
AST SpaceMobile, a provider of low-Earth orbit satellite architecture, surged after announcing its upcoming launch schedule.

The company plans to launch its BlueBird 7 commercial communications array in late February, as part of Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin New Glenn-3 mission.

US space stocks rise after Musk's SpaceX merges US space stocks rise after Musk's SpaceX merges with xAI at $1.25 trillion valuation

By Jaspreet Singh

Feb 3 (Reuters) - U.S. space stocks rose on Tuesday after Elon Musk announced the merger of SpaceX and xAI in a deal that valued the combined entity at $1.25 trillion, a major push to expand artificial intelligence infrastructure outside Earth.

Musk estimates that within two to three years, the most cost-effective way to generate AI compute will be in space, as Big Tech companies spend hundreds of billions in the pursuit of artificial general intelligence, a theoretical milestone where machines could surpass human capabilities in cognitive tasks.
