Bank of Ireland heads higher on the back of global market gains and a positive review from Goldman Sachs.
Bank of Ireland ADR (NYSE:IRE) futures are up by 1.17% after brokers at Goldman Sachs said the firms ISE listed stocks are undervalued at current prices.
Analysts at Goldman Sachs said Bank of Ireland shares would find fair value at 0.95, that is 46.38% higher than at yesterday's closing price of 0.649.
Shares in Ireland are up sharply on the news; shares are trading 5% higher at 0.68.
The Goldman Sachs move follows that made by ratings agency Moody's earlier this month.

Frankfurt/Main (dpa) - Die geglückte irische Kapitalaufnahme hat dem Dax am Dienstag Gewinne beschert. Der Leitindex stieg um 0,56 Prozent auf 6330 Punkte und nahm damit weiter Kurs auf sein Jahreshoch von 6386 Punkten.
Für den MDax ging es um 0,51 Prozent auf 8848 Punkte nach oben, der TecDax legte um 0,46 Prozent zu auf 786 Punkte. Das stark verschuldete Euro-Land Irland lieh sich am Dienstag neue Mittel am Kapitalmarkt. Auf 1,5 Milliarden Euro beliefen sich die beiden Staatspapiere mit Laufzeiten von vier und acht Jahren, die Dublin jetzt am Markt unterbringen konnte.
Die Nachfrage war sogar stärker als von vielen erwartet. Die Anleihen von Irland und auch von Portugal hatten zuletzt deutlich unter Druck gestanden. Hintergrund waren Spekulationen um eine mögliche Inanspruchnahme des Stabilitätsfonds von Europäischer Union und Internationalem Währungsfonds durch Irland. Vor dem Zinsentscheid der US-Notenbank am Abend jedoch hielten sich die Anleger mit größeren Engagements zurück, meinten Börsianer.

Bank of Ireland considers opening bond-trading desk

BANK of Ireland (BoI) is considering opening a bond-trading desk that would act as a primary dealer for government bond auctions.
The move would end Davy's status as the only Irish member of the 16-strong group of primary dealers for government debt.
BoI could make a decision on the bond desk within "months or years", one source said, adding that establishing the function wasn't a priority.
Setting up a trading desk would give BoI a fresh income stream against a backdrop of forced retrenchment at the hands of the European Commission.
BoI is preparing its New Ireland life-insurance division for sale and must also sell off asset manager BIAM and other non-core assets.
Earlier this week, Davy attracted more than 100 listeners to a conference call on the Irish outlook ahead of yesterday's bond auction.
Other primary dealers of Irish government securities include the London office of Citigroup; Paris-based HSBC France; Frankfurt's Deutsche Bank AG; London's Barclays Bank; and Amsterdam's ING.

Eins musste einigen klar sein, so preiswert wird BOI auf dauer nicht mehr lange bleiben wird ;-)
Ist aber nur meine meinung ;-))
da ist bei AIB wohl nicht mehr viel zu holen!
Hoffe, dass boi nun den Sprung schafft!!
wie viele andere das Boi eine der ersten Irische Banken aus der Krise rauskommen wird :-)

Die Regierung wird auch die Kontrolle über Anglo Irish, Irish Nationwide und EBS, sodass nur noch zwei Banken außerhalb der staatlichen Kontrolle: Bank of Ireland (IRE) und Irish Life & Permanent.

da steht, wie so mancher schlecht geredet hat..

But Irish banks will continue to come under pressure over the fortunes of the broader home economy.
Bank of Ireland (NYSE:IRE) is a Buy on a technical basis say the equity analyst team at Delta Index. Delta have said the formation of a MACD crossover on the Bank of Ireland charts has prompted the bullish sentiment. As such, Delta advise a Buy at 66, a stop loss set at 57 and an initial take profit target set at 85. Bank of Ireland shares closed 1.36% lower yesterday, but in the most recent after hours data at our disposal shares are higher 0.28%. Irish banks will continue to come under pressure over the fortunes of the broader home economy. This morning it is reported that Ireland’s Aa2 credit rating is on review for possible downgrade. Moody’s Investors Service made the announcement, citing the rising cost of recapitalising the nation’s crippled banking sector, as well as an uncertain domestic outlook and rising borrowing costs. “Ireland’s ability to preserve government financial strength faces increased uncertainty as a result of three main drivers, which together would further increase its debt and aggravate its debt affordability,” said Dietmar Hornung, the ratings agency’s lead sovereign analyst for Ireland. If Moody’s rating is cut, it would “most likely” be by one notch, which would leave the nation with an A rating. The agency said it intends to complete the review within three months. |

Goldman Sachs hat das Kursziel für die Aktien der Bank of Ireland nach der Bekanntgabe der Details zur Sanierung des irischen Finanzsektors von 0,95 auf 0,85 Euro gesenkt, aber die Einstufung auf "Buy" belassen. Wenn man Bedenkt das vor Kurzem eine Kapitalerhöhung war..
Und Jetzt 2.4 Millarden von NAMA zu BOI rüber fließen..
Erscheint mir ein Kursziel bis Ende des Jahres von 1,20 bis 1,40 Euro eher Plausibel..
BOI ist immer für eine Überraschung gut ;-))
war die Kapitalerhöhung in Höhe von 2,7 Mrd. Euro
Wenn Boi Jetzt die 2.4 Milliarden von NAMA bekommt dann
hat BOI ein Kapital 5,1 Milliarden mehr + ;-)
Und das in innerhalb von ein paar Monate + die XXXX
einlagen was sie noch selber haben..
Die müssten mehr als genug Kapital Rücklage damit haben..
Ich glaube das sobald die Meldung kommt das sie das Geld von
NAMA er halten haben wird es wieder ein großer Sprung nach Oben geben ;-))
Die Aktie von BOI dürfte damit mehr als unterbewertet sein ;-)
Also Cool bleiben und mit ein Grinsen abwarten ;-))))
