ASTS is a perfect spec AST SpaceMobile, Inc. (NASDAQ:ASTS) is one of the stocks Jim Cramer shared his opinions on. A caller asked for Cramer’s opinion on the stock, and he remarked:

“Well… you heard the word space. Now I know this is, people are going to say, what the heck has Cramer spoken? Well, actually, I’ve been right about every single one of these, as you know. But what really does matter to me is, is that this is your spec. You’re allowed to have a spec. I say it… all you gotta do is have one spec. You’re allowed it. You can’t have two unless you’re very, very young. And that ASTS is a perfect spec.”

New EU Satellite Constellation Vodafone and AST SpaceMobile Announce New EU Satellite Constellation and Select Germany for European Sovereign Satellite Operations Centre

Vodafone and AST SpaceMobile announce new satellite constellation

Vodafone and AST SpaceMobile select Germany for Satellite Operations Centre to further strengthen Europe’s digital sovereignty.

Move follows establishment of Vodafone and AST SpaceMobile Luxembourg-headquartered satellite joint venture, SatCo.

Planned EU constellation to be equipped with a "command switch" to provide European oversight and security.

AST SpaceMobile filed with the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) through Germany for registration of a new mid-band satellite constellation.

November 07, 2025 AST SpaceMobile Inc, the company building the first and only space-based cellular broadband network accessible directly by everyday smartphones, designed for both commercial and government application, and Vodafone Group Plc, a leading European and African telecommunications company, announce today that they have selected Germany as the location for their main Satellite Operations Centre. The centre will allocate and map satellite connectivity used by SatCo to serve mobile network operators (MNOs) across Europe to ensure ubiquitous mobile broadband in underserved areas and support emergency services and disaster relief agencies. It will be located near either Munich or Hannover, depending on final negotiations with all relevant parties.

SatCo aims to provide a scalable European satellite mobile broadband service for use by MNOs to benefit all European citizens, businesses and public sector organisations. MNOs in 21 European Union (EU) member states and other European countries have expressed interest in adopting the service, with commercial launch planned to commence from 2026.

The planned EU constellation will include a comprehensive ‘command switch’ feature to support European oversight and security. This capability supports updating all telemetry, tracking, and control (TTC) encryption keys for both S-Band (used to connect smartphones from space) and Q/V-Band (used for links between satellites and earth stations). It also allows for the modification of service encryption keys for communications across the continent, as well as manages the activation, deactivation, and direction of satellite beams in Europe.

In addition to commercial mobile broadband, the constellation will support public protection and disaster relief efforts (PPDR). It does this by providing reliable, broadband-speed connectivity from space directly to the everyday smartphones and other cellular devices of emergency responders, even in the most dangerous and challenging environments.

The planned satellite constellation can also contribute to the development of a pan-European mobile broadband system, enhancing the communication and coordination of emergency services during crises and disasters, in line with the EU Critical Communication System (EUCCS) vision. In particular, the satellites will support frequency bands that are suitable for PPDR radio communications, subject to national decisions and deployment choices.

The Case for AST SpaceMobile
AST SpaceMobile has deployed its first five commercial satellites (dubbed Bluebird) in LEO, marking a key advancement in developing a space-based mobile network infrastructure. These satellites have the largest-ever commercial communications arrays spanning 693 square feet. They offer non-continuous service across the United States using more than 5,600 cells within the premium low-band spectrum. This achievement follows the success of the company's in-orbit BlueWalker 3 satellite, creating a space-based cellular broadband network that can directly link with mobile devices, eliminating the need for ground-based infrastructure. It plans to deploy 45 to 60 satellites into orbit by the first quarter of 2026. The company boasts a diverse portfolio of more than 3,650 patents and patent-pending claims worldwide for the direct-to-cell satellite ecosystem from space to Earth.

The SpaceMobile service is compatible with all major brands available in the market and connects directly to everyday mobile phones. It delivers broadband connectivity from space to unmodified mobile devices, providing a service to fill cellular coverage gaps in a differentiated approach compared to other space-based communication services. AST SpaceMobile has partnered with leading carriers such as AT&T Inc. T and Verizon Communications Inc. VZ to tap into a pre-existing pool of cell customers and raise funds to help build a worldwide satellite network. This has enhanced cellular coverage in the United States, essentially eliminating dead zones and empowering remote areas of the country with space-based connectivity.

AST Spacemobile Has A Cash Hoard Spacemobile's Wisniewski Sets Out 2026 Goals

12/09/2025

Space stock AST Spacemobile (ASTS) has a fervent fan base that follow the company on Reddit, on dedicated podcasts, and with an army of popular social media accounts.

AST is wrapping up a stellar year. The company signed major contracts with customers like Verizon (VZ) and Vodafone (VD) and saw its shares climb more than 230%.

AST is not the only space stock to soar in 2025. Rocket Lab (RKLB), which provides launch services for other space companies, is up about 105% this year. However, others have languished in the stock market. For example, Firefly Aeronautics (FLY) is down 35% and Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic (SPCE) fell roughly 37% so far for the year.

AST Spacemobile's Plans For 2026

As the year comes to a close AST is preparing for 2026. In an interview with Investor's Business Daily, AST Spacemobile President Scott Wisniewski outlined the company's plans for next year.

"In 2026, deploying the network and launching commercial service in our initial strategic markets is the main focus of the company," Wisniewski said.

AST specializes in building and operating low-orbit satellites that help wireless companies cover dead zones in their cellphone coverage. It currently has six satellites in orbit. Next year, AST plans to launch 45 to 60 satellites, according to the company.

AST Spacemobile Has A Cash Hoard

Throughout this year, AST Spacemobile underwent a series of transactions to raise money. In July and October, it executed to two rounds of convertible note offerings that yielded $1.6 billion, CFO Andrew Johnson said during an earnings call last month. Tech giant Alphabet also invested a further $200 million in AST.

Thanks in part to those financial moves, AST has a strong balance sheet with more than $1.2 billion in cash and cash equivalents, according to their third-quarter 10-Q filing. The company reported just over $700 million in long-term debt, up from less than $160 million at the start of the year.

India delays launch of AST SpaceMobile satellite India delays launch of AST SpaceMobile satellite

December 10, 2025
By Chris Forrester

India’s Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has delayed by a week its planned launch of AST SpaceMobile’s first of its powerful next-generation ‘Block 2’ BlueBird satellites (BlueBird 6). A planned launch date of December 15th has slipped to December 20th at 04.20 UTC.

Scott Wisniewski, AST’s president, told UBS bankers at a December 8th conference that AST was putting more power into orbit than anyone in history.

He added that AST estimates that some 7.5 million devices will achieve a higher margin than ordinary connections. Observers have suggested that with an ARPU of $10 per month this would equate to some $900 million of annual revenues. At an 80 per cent margin that’s around $720 million in net profit.
However, Wisniewski told delegates that he anticipated AST’s overall margin to be 90 per cent.
He added that AST was planning 13 launches from now to the end of next year. Many (indeed most) of these launches will carry multiple AST BlueBirds, up to around 8 per flight.

Wisniewski said: “So we’re building out a low-band constellation now. There are other frequencies that are relevant. There are potential government constellations. And once you’ve built out these shells, especially over time, as space gets more constellations, we think that we’ll have a really attractive position as an operator of a couple of these very valuable shells. And what you see in speculation in the market is what do you do when you have a lot of power delivered to orbit in a very low-cost fashion and big markets and demand to support that and strategic interest of governments to support that.”

AST SpaceMobile's Investment Narrative What Is AST SpaceMobile's Investment Narrative?

To own AST SpaceMobile today, you have to believe that direct-to-smartphone satellite broadband can move from impressive demos to a scalable, paying network before the company’s cash and investor patience run thin. The BlueBird 6 launch is central to that belief: its much larger phased array and 10x data capacity are meant to validate the architecture that underpins the planned 45–60 satellite constellation and the billions in contracted revenue commitments. The recent launch delays and sharp share price swings underline that execution remains the key short term catalyst and the biggest risk at the same time. If BlueBird 6 performs as advertised, it could strengthen confidence in AST’s ambitious manufacturing ramp and new partnerships like SatCo and stc. If it stumbles, dilution and funding risk come back into sharp focus.
